On October 2nd, The Moody Center board met to make preparations for our next phases of development as we prepare for 2018. We have spent the summer working with consultants and developers to discuss the various potential reaches of The Moody Center and how we can serve our audiences. The ultimate goal behind our work is to revitalize the D.L. Moody legacy, which includes his work of evangelism, education, and discipleship.
At the board meeting, we discussed the strategic direction for The Moody Center, and the board approved our pursuit of this direction. Our endeavors include:
-The continued curation of the D.L. Moody archives and further planning for the Moody museum
-Bringing more conferences and events to The Moody Center at Northfield
-Developing resources to equip Christian workers
While these ideas are not new to The Moody Center, our next steps require us to hammer out more the details to bring these visions to life. Our board and team of consultants will continue to guide this process.
We are grateful for our Northfield neighbors and the rest of our supporters, so we will keep you informed of major decisions via our blog and our e-newsletter. If you have questions for our leadership, you can always reach out and we are glad to answer questions. More information and updates is also available on our social media sites: Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
The patience and support we have received is a tremendous blessing. The plans for The Moody Center are not a simple, small undertaking. We have very large endeavors with running a museum, digitizing thousands of written artifacts, creating a world-class conference and events center for New England, and adding more and more resources for all Christians. D.L. Moody certainly never did anything small though. He wanted to honor the Lord and draw people in, and we are following in those foot-steps.
For new life
So never fear, plans are in progress, and we have great confidence based off the response we receive from partners and developers. Good things are ahead. The Moody Center exists to bring the community life, the joy, the new life. It’s not about us. This project is about life- abundant, new, flourishing. The stories we hear of Moody’s Northfield captures the creative and collaborative spirit we want to emulate.
We need everyone in on this project, especially as we look ahead to begin rolling out some of those details you have been anxious to hear. First and foremost, the biggest way you can support is to tell people about The Moody Center and how they can bring a tour, host an event, or find resources. Creating this center for New England relies on the news you spread.
Second, your donations help pave the way to roll out these plans. We have a key need to add an updated audio/visual system in order to provide that service for events with us. You can donate to other areas of development though on our website at: www.themoodycenter.org/donate
Third, contribute your own talents. We welcome guest writers for our blog, volunteers to assist with scanning in the Moody archives, photos of the Northfield campus, or other ways you may want to volunteer and be involved. Reach out with your ideas! email@example.com
Thank you for the support as we navigate through these paths to begin each new phase of The Moody Center.
